How to Work With Us

For decades, NSRD has worked alongside leaders around the world as they grapple with their greatest national security challenges. NSRD’s mission is to help these leaders—through rigorous research and analysis. We support two categories of research sponsors: DoD sponsors and foundation, international allied government, or other U.S. Government sponsors.

DoD Sponsors

NSRD operates the National Defense Research Institute (NDRI), a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC), which, for decades, has supported a variety of sponsors in the U.S. Department of Defense, including the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD), the Joint Staff, the Unified Combatant Commands, the Navy, the Marine Corps, the defense agencies, and the defense Intelligence Community. A few of the specific DoD organizations we work with include:

  • OUSD(P)
  • OUSD(P&R)
  • OUSD(A&S)
  • OUSD(R&E)
  • OSD CAPE
  • OSD ONA

Outside NSRD, the RAND Corporation also supports the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force through the RAND Army Research Division and RAND Project AIR FORCE.
