This Memorandum is a technical description of the RAND tablet, a graphical computer input device developed at the RAND Corporation. The RAND tablet is believed to be the first such graphic device that is digital, is relatively low-cost, possesses excellent linearity, and is able to uniquely describe 10 to the sixth power locations in the 10-inch by 10-inch active tablet area.
This report is part of the RAND Corporation Research memorandum series. The Research Memorandum was a product of the RAND Corporation from 1948 to 1973 that represented working papers meant to report current results of RAND research to appropriate audiences.
